The term virtual office simply means that we leverage the use of technology with the assistance of the internet and telephone when conducting online education. In a virtual office setting, participants and instructors have the ability to securely communicate verbally using a telephone connection and visually, through presentations or visual aids over the Internet.
Must I have special software or PC requirements to participate in SkillsTutor online learning or to attend a virtual meeting?Conferencing requirements are easy. If you plan to attend a virtual meeting, you will need: 1) access to the internet, 2) the ability to dial in using the phone or to communicate using streaming audio over the Web, (mic and speakers or headset required) and 3) Windows 2000, XP or Vista (for Mac users, Mac OSX Panther or newer).
Do you have a question, comment or compliment? Contact us and let us know, we appreciate your comments!
We understand that each home school curriculum is the choice of the parent and caters to the specific needs of the child or children involved. Therefore, we take pride in our ability to work with parents to understand their goals and to determine the progression of students, based on the student’s individual abilities and grade level. Upon registration, registrants are emailed an easy to read information sheet that briefly reviews Florida Home School requirements and our streamlined process for reviewing work samples. At that time, clients are also assigned a certified teacher who will contact them by phone or email to schedule a specific time and date for the student discussion conference. On the conference date, the student and parent connect to the teacher’s virtual office for a detalied student/teacher discussion and review of submitted material.
Note: In the few instances where a student does not have internet access, the evaluation discussion is done entirely over the phone.
